The US Army has awarded a $378m contract to Oshkosh Corporation to supply more than 6,000 upgraded vehicles to the army’s fleet of heavy tactical vehicles.

Under the contract, Oshkosh will also supply 728 new M1075 palletised load system trucks and 317 new heavy expanded mobility tactical trucks, as well as upgrade palletised load system trucks.

In addition, Oshkosh will supply 800 rocket-propelled grenade kits and 172 explosively formed penetrator kits and 2,277 rear-view sensor systems for the mine-resistant, all-terrain vehicles under a separate $88m contract.

The contracts awarded are part of an existing contract for US Army tactical trucks awarded in October 2008.
