Iran has urged Russia not to yield to Western pressure over the sale of a Russian missile defence system to the Islamic Republic.
Despite a previous agreement, Russia has so far not delivered a S-300 anti-aircraft system to Iran, a move that Iranian officials have criticised as a sign of Russia bowing to Western pressure from the USA and Israel, according to Reuters.

Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Iran expects Russia not to be influenced and pressured by other countries.
“We hope this issue will reach a conclusion in the framework of our agreements,” Mehmanparast said.
The S-300PMU1, also known as a SA-20, is a truck-mounted missile defence system with a range of 150km.
The system is capable of travelling at more than 2km per second and can shoot down cruise missiles and aircraft.
