The Spanish Government is considering a potential arms deal with Saudi Arabia worth more than $4.2bn as part of the modernisation of the Saudi armed forces.

The potential deal ould be sealed next month during the visit of Saudi Defence Minister Khaled bin Sultan and would include the sale of 270 Leopard 2E tanks.
