Mercury Systems has secured an order from an undisclosed defence prime contractor to support a ground-based radar application.

The latest order is worth $7.9m and was finalised in the third quarter of fiscal year 2022.

As part of the terms of the contract, the company has been tasked to supply embedded processing systems. 

Delivery under the contract is expected to continue through the next several quarters.

The commercial technology company’s high-performance signal processing systems will help the ground-based radar programme in supporting critical security missions.

Radars are designed to deliver high-resolution data that provides insights and support in mission critical decision-making.

Headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts, Mercury’s advanced solutions are embedded in over 300 commercial and defence programmes across different sectors.

As of 1 April 2022, Mercury’s total backlog was $996.0m and its total bookings for the third quarter of fiscal year 2022 were $295.4m.

In September 2018, the US-based company won a contract from a defence prime contractor for the first high-volume production shipment of its BuiltSECURE memory devices.
