The kits will enhance the survivability and operation of the RG-31 vehicles to the latest production configuration.

The RG-31 Mk5E features an enhanced independent suspension system that improves vehicle mobility and ride comfort, improved crew comfort combined with ease of handling and a v-shaped hull for mine and IED protection.

The contract was signed through the Canadian Commercial Corporation, a Crown Agency of the Canadian Government, and delivery of the kits is expected to be completed by October 2011.
