EFW Inc has been awarded a firm-fixed-price contract by the US Army Contracting Command for the procurement of mortar fire control system (MFCS) components.

The MFCS decides the position and pointing angle for accurate firing of the 120mm mortar, and enables digital communications between the mortar crew and fire-control networks.

MFCS components include a commander’s interface that links system components, a pointing device to determine position, a gunner’s display for accurate firing and a driver’s display to drive toward targets.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Fort Worth, Texas, US, with an estimated completion date of 30 April 2014.
