The package also includes identification friend or foe (IFF), Sentinel software, HMMWV support equipment, spare and repair parts as well as associated training and logistical support.

The proposed sale is part of the armed forces modernisation and expansion of the country’s air defense architecture to counter threats posed by air attack.

The Sentinel radars will greatly enhance Morocco’s interoperability with the US and other Nato nations.

Thales Raytheon Systems, International Telephone and Telegraph (ITT) and American General will be the prime contractors.
