Rheinmetall Electronics and Greece’s Intracom Defense have entered a cooperation agreement focused on vehicle-based command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) systems.

The agreement was signed by Rheinmetall Electronics managing director Christoph Müller and Intracom Defense chief executive officer Dr George Troullinos in September.

Under the agreement, the two firms will work together on the development and marketing efforts of a vehicle-based C4I system.

The partners intend to manufacture user-friendly and cost-efficient C4I solutions for military vehicles that meet the customers’ needs while delivering operational excellence.

Through the joint development of this C4I system, the partnership also seeks to meet the requirements of the two companies’ domestic and international markets.

Rheinmetall Electronics is focused on command and communication systems for communication between vehicles and the command chain.

Intracom Defense is a provider of intercom systems that allow communication between crew members.

The collaboration will mainly bring together Rheinmetall’s TacNet tactical management system and the company’s soldier systems and C4I Surveillance, Targeting Acquisition and Reconnaissance (STAR) applications expertise and Intracom’s WiSPRevo communication and information system and vehicle communications expertise.

The two companies will also combine their technological, production and commercial capabilities as part of the cooperation agreement.

Rheinmetall Defence Australia recently confirmed a build and export order for the Lynx IFV’s test chassis to the US.
