Oshkosh Defense has won a contract to equip the US Army’s Stryker Double V Hull Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICVVA1) with its 30mm medium calibre weapons systems (MCWS).
The $942.9m contract has been awarded by US Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA).

The MCWS solution is the result of Oshkosh’s partnership with Pratt & Miller Engineering and Israel’s Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
The 30mm gun is based on Rafael’s SAMSON family of turrets. It will be integrated into army’s three Stryker Brigade Combat Teams (SBCTs) under the contract, which also includes the provision of technical and logistical support.
The Production Representative Sample Systems were trialled and assessed against rigorous vehicle and turret performance requirements by the US Army at Aberdeen Test Center in Maryland, US.
This system upgrade will provide SBCT with ‘precision lethality capability’ and help the Stryker ICVVA1 to maintain its mobility and survivability.
