This RTG is an essential element that is used to evaluate the performance of the radar system in a test environment and determine its optimum deployment.

Under the contract, Hensoldt will deliver a new RTG that will meet the evolving operational requirements of the user nations, including long-term deployments in stationary locations, simultaneous operation of several systems, as well as radar deployment for 24/7 surveillance missions.

Cobra is a mobile radar system used for identifying enemy artillery and missile positions and determining the flight path of projectiles to expedite protective measures.

A consortium comprising Hensoldt, Thales and Lockheed Martin developed the first configuration of the radar for the German, French and British armed forces.
