In the recent weeks, Iran has ramped up military exercises as US President-elect Joe Biden is set to assume office.

Last week, Iran launched long-range ballistic missiles at simulated targets in the Indian Ocean. These missiles are said to have a range of around 1,800km and are capable of hitting moving targets in the ocean.

The Middle-East nation also tested locally manufactured drones and surface-to-surface ballistic missiles in the central desert region, while its naval forces fired cruise missiles in the Gulf of Oman.
