Australia has released a request for proposals (RFP) for new special forces helicopters under LAND2097 Phase 4.
The RFP will remain open for one month in the market and the Australian defence industry is being invited to participate.

Received proposals will be evaluated by the end of the year.
Under LAND2097 Phase 4, the Australian Defence Force (ADF) will explore its industry options for the upgrade of the new fleet of light helicopters.
Australian Minister for Defence Linda Reynolds said: “Australian industry have unique capabilities to offer the ADF and the broader global military light helicopter market in the design and manufacture of aviation systems.
“Small Australian companies are already competing on the world stage, providing innovative solutions to special mission aircraft.

A request for tender was issued earlier this year for a new fleet of helicopters. It also covered an initial support contract.
On an annual basis, the fleet will undergo slight modifications and the development of new capabilities to adapt to the regional security environment and technological advances.
In July, Airbus Helicopters partnered with more than 20 Australian firms to form Team Nightjar for Project LAND 2097 Phase 4.
Babcock Australia and Hawker Pacific are bidding for the requirement with Bell 429.
Last year, Perth-based Advanced Braking Technology and VEEM were contracted to produce a braking system for the Australian Army’s Hawkei vehicle.
