Boeing has decided to suspend production operations at its facilities in Ridley Township, Pennsylvania, US, for two weeks amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
According to the company, the decision was taken to ensure the safety of its employees and their families, as well as local communities.

Employees are advised to work from home, while those who cannot will receive paid leave for the ten working days the facilities will be closed.
The site is used for producing military rotorcraft, such as the H-47 Chinook, V-22 Osprey and MH-139A Grey Wolf, as well as for other activities.
Boeing Vertical Lift vice-president and general manager, and Philadelphia site senior executive Steve Parker said: “Suspending operations at our vital military rotorcraft facilities is a serious step, but a necessary one for the health and safety of our employees and their communities.
“We’re working closely with government and public health officials in the tri-state region. We’re also in contact with our customers, suppliers and other stakeholders affected by this temporary suspension as we assist in the national effort to combat the spread of Covid-19.”
