AM General has revealed the new right hand drive M-1165 2.0 deployable reconnaissance ground network (DRGN) vehicle at the Singapore Airshow, which is currently underway at Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore.
The vehicle is designed for international rapidly deployable forces, border surveillance, and reconnaissance and interdiction missions.

Incorporating AM General’s expertise and experience in design, development and manufacture of light tactical vehicles (LVPs), the M-1165 2.0 DRGN V can be quickly configured to meet a multitude of varying mission requirements.
The vehicle is only 2m in width, and is designed to quickly deploy from inside a cargo helicopter and manoeuvre through tight urban and harsh jungle and desert environments. Approximately 70% of its parts have commonality with the existing high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicle (HMMWV) family, reducing expenses for parts, maintenance and training in the era of increasing pressure on defence budgets globally.
Right hand vehicles represent one of three new internationally focused LTV models AM General currently plans to expand beyond more than 60 countries already operating standard HMMWVs in their security forces.
AM General international business development vice president Scott Thompson said that the company’s primary markets for right hand drive vehicles are South East Asia and India.

The company is also displaying its service parts and logistics operation at the airshow, which concludes on 16 February.
