“Blackboard has been a great partner in helping us educate and train hundreds of thousands of soldiers around the world.”

The expansion of the partnership supports the Army’s Lifelong Learning Program (LLP), which is aimed at meeting the TRADOC Commander’s guidance for an adaptive, agile learning environment by providing learners with access to offline and online blended learning capabilities.

Blackboard’s edtech platform also meets the needs of the US Army School Commandants and the needs of the Operational Commander with an on-demand capability, bridging the gap between the resident, operational and self-development learning domains.

A spokesperson for the company said that it will support more than 45 programmes for the Army Management Staff College at Fort Leavenworth and the SGT Major’s Academy at Fort Bliss.

The company will deploy the technology both on-premise and in the cloud, and assist the US Army in developing accreditation and assessment solutions, as well as leveraging real-time virtual classroom collaboration through Blackboard Collaborate and on mobile.

Blackboard Learn will be used to create, store, manage and deliver content, as well as develop and deploy content and curriculum.

The United States Army Distributed Learning Program director Helen Remily said: “Blackboard has been a great partner in helping us educate and train hundreds of thousands of soldiers around the world.

“Blackboard has an unmatched understanding of our unique needs and continues to provide Army learning institutions with advanced capabilities in multiple formats to support both common core training and professional military education.”
