The UK’s Colchester-based 16 Air Assault Brigade and the French 11e Brigade Parachutiste (11e BP) have conducted a training exercise in Toulouse, France.
Aimed at boosting military cooperation between Britain and France, the exercise allowed the forces to better understand the similarities and differences between the brigades, while enabling them to plan and fight, side-by-side, to further prove their readiness.

The 16 Air Assault Brigade and 11e BP are held at high readiness for deployment on operations anywhere across the globe.
16 Air Assault Brigade commander brigadier Nick Borton said: "It has been a great opportunity to train alongside our French partners in 11e BP, both on the ground and in the air.
"This exercise has been hugely successful in bringing all of these maturing relationships together to demonstrate how we would plan and operate as a joint force, able to carry out complex operations anywhere in the world."
11e BP commander brigadier general Olivier Salaün added: "The main benefit of these sort of exercises is to reinforce the level of interoperability between both brigades.

As well as strengthening the way the units work together, the exercise enabled the troops to improve their cultural understanding of the two brigades.
