LGS Innovations has secured a $48m contract from the US Army to relocate a communications network infrastructure from multiple locations in the Republic of Korea to US Army Garrison (USAG) Humphreys.
The contract is in line with the Yongsan Relocation Plan Increment 2C (YRP-2C).

Under the five-year contract, LGS will relocate and upgrade the army's command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) systems and infrastructure.
The company will also design, engineer, install, and test the communications network infrastructure, as well as design the virtualised data centre infrastructure.
LGS Innovations CEO Kevin Kelly said: “LGS had the right combination of risk management and logistical expertise to undertake this project, as well as a 20-year history of successful overseas network infrastructure design and installations for the army.
“This will help the US Army move into a less congested area of the Korean peninsula and update their infrastructure to improve readiness while enhancing its partnership with local communities.”

By GlobalDataThe Increment 2C contract will relocate the assets of the United Nations Command (UNC) and United States Forces Korea (USFK) from facilities throughout the ROK peninsula to consolidated locations on the USAG-H and other facilities in the ROK.
In May, the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) ordered a lightweight, low-power optical communication terminal system from LGS to improve communications amongst its growing fleet of satellites.
The two-year contract for the system is worth up to $5m.
