Composite Engineering (Cei), a unit of Kratos Unmanned Systems Division (USD), has received a contract to provide unmanned drones to an undisclosed international customer.

The $17.75m contract will include the delivery of multiple BQM-167i unmanned aerial target drones, support and command and control equipment, spares and related ancillary equipment.

The deal has been signed to support 30 flights across the customer's two separate sites simultaneously.

The new contract is the first of three large new customer programmes, which the company expects to receive over the next several months.

The BQM-167i has been designed to support various mission requirements, including friend-or-foe identification, passive and active radio frequency (RF) augmentation, and infrared (IR) augmentation.

It also provides customers with end-to-end weapons-release training, the company said in a statement.

Kratos USD provides unmanned drone systems for the US military and its allies.
