Thales has agreed to deliver Sotas vehicle communication system and associated services to the Danish Defence and Logistic Organization (DALO) in Denmark.

The DALO will equip both wheeled and tracked vehicles with the Sotas communication system.

First deliveries under the seven-year contract are expected to begin in 2018.

Thales activities in the Netherlands will be responsible for the transfer of maintenance technologies to Denmark.

The Sotas systems are based on a high-performance open architecture that is modular, scalable and future-proof, Thales stated.

The systems will be fully compatible with Sotas equipment delivered to DALO under the previous framework agreement, and easily integrated into the vehicles due to their compliance with standard protocols.

In addition, the system's modular components can be assembled and scaled to provide optimal system configurations for all vehicle types and missions, according to the company.

According to Thales, a simple vehicle intercom requires only one single Sotas unit.

Larger and more complex systems can be created by adding crew stations, network nodes, software packages, and hardware option modules.

The Sotas systems are currently in service with more than 30 countries.
