The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of a potential $1.238bn foreign military sale of missiles, torpedoes, electronic warfare system upgrades to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO).
Under the $400m sale, TECRO aims to receive surveillance radar programme (SRP) operation and maintenance support, including contractor logistics and engineering services, and technical updates to address equipment obsolescence.

The sale also covers transportation and material costs associated with contractor repair and return services, spare and repair parts, support and test equipment, publications and technical documentation, and personnel training.
The SRP is said to be a key component for the recipient's command, control, communications, computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance architecture.
TECRO has also requested 46 MK 48 Mod 6AT heavyweight torpedoes and MK 54 lightweight torpedo conversion kits in sales worth $250m and $175m respectively.
In addition, the representative office will procure 56 AGM-154C JSOW air-to-ground missiles for $185.5m, 50 AGM-88B high-speed anti-radiation missiles (HARMs) and ten AGM-88B Training HARMs worth $147.5m.

By GlobalDataTECRO also aims to receive AN/SLQ-32(V)3 electronic warfare system upgrades in support of four ex-KIDD Class (now KEELUNG Class) destroyers, under an $80m sale.
Raytheon Missiles Systems will serve as the prime contractor to upgrade AN/SLQ-32(V)3 systems.
The procurement will enable TECRO to meet current and future threats and strengthen homeland defence.
