Deals this week: MD Helicopters, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Leidos


MD Helicopters has secured a $1.38bn contract from the US Army Contracting Command to procure up to 150 MD 530F aircraft through August 2022.

The contractor will also provide required production support services such as pilot training, programme management, delivery support, and maintenance, as part of the deal.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has won a contract worth $952.28m from the Indian Ministry of Defence for advanced light helicopters (ALH).

HAL will deliver up to 40 ALH units to the Indian Army and one unit to the Indian Navy over a five-year period.

The US Army has awarded two contracts to General Dynamics Land Systems for the modernisation of Abrams main battle tanks.

The first contract, valued at $311m, includes delivery of seven prototype units of M1A2 SEPv4 tanks, while the second contract is for production of 45 Abrams M1A2 SEPv3 tanks.

The US Army Corps of Engineers has awarded a $49.5m contract to Leidos for providing hazardous toxic radioactive waste investigation services until February 2023.

The services to be provided under the contract will support the formerly used sites remedial action programme.

EFW has secured a contract to provide spares and components for the US Army’s Aviators night vision imaging system / heads up display.

Awarded by the US Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime, the $31.55m contract is scheduled to run through November 2019.
