General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GAAS) has been awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-plus-incentive-fee contract to provide support services to the US Army unmanned aircraft system (UAS).
Under the $64.2m award, GAAS will provide product support, logistical support and sustainment operations to the extended-range / multipurpose (ERMP) quick reaction capability UAS.
The ERMP UAS will provide greater situational awareness for tactical commanders to rapidly assess and respond to threats and changing situations in operations across the spectrum of conflict.
Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in California, Utah and Maryland, US, with an estimated completion date of 7 November 2011.
The US Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal will be the contracting activity.
