Vectronix has its roots in the military survey activities of Wild Heerbrugg (respectively Leica Geosystems), was spun off as Leica Vectronix in 2002, and shortened its name to Vectronix on the 1st of August 2003. Vectronix is best known for its VECTOR Rangefinder Binoculars, the world's first combination of binocular optics, eyesafe laser rangefinder, digital compass and clinometer. The company provides state-of-the-art equipment and systems for:
Of increasing importance is Vectronix's role as a supplier and partner to systems integrators. Modules such as the Digital Magnetic Compass (DMC) and Laser Range Finder (LRF) will enhance the situational awareness of ground troops in a number of programmes. EYESAFE RANGEFINDERSVECTOR measures distance, azimuth and elevation of targets up to 20km away. Distinguished by their brilliant optics, these Rangefinder Binoculars can also display horizontal distance, height difference and azimuth between two remote objects. When compactness and minimum weight are more important than maximum range performance, the extremely sturdy Pocket Laser Range Finder (PLRF) is the right choice. It has a volume of 0.5L and weighs 0.62kg, making it ideal for MOUT and other difficult terrain. NIGHT VISIONVectronix's family of image intensifier products includes night vision goggles, binoculars, pocketscopes and periscopes. Subject to international export control regulations, they are operated by armies, special forces and border guards. RANGEFINDERS WITH NIGHT CAPABILITY New products such as VECTOR Nite and MOSKITO combine the measurement functions of the eyesafe rangefinders with image-intensified night vision. OBSERVATION AND TARGET ACQUISITION Vectronix's goniometers add a lot of precision, comfort and functionality to VECTOR or laser rangefinders from other manufacturers: accurate orientation; accurate angle measurement; smooth and steady pointing; embedded software for initialization and display of target grid coordinates; and memory, message editing, data transfer to / from peripheral equipment such as GPS receivers, digital message devices or radios, in combination with night-vision devices. GUN LAYING AND ORIENTATIONAccurate angle measurement plus reflectorless distance measurement is easy with the electronic theodolite of the Military Autonomous Survey Station (MASS). The optional north-finding gyroscope provides reliable orientation where magnetic compasses might fail and where no stars or reference points are available. Other products in this category are the proven Gun Laying and Positioning System (GLPS) and digital survey stations based on the SG12 or GonioLight digital goniometers.
