Air Precision was founded in 1946 as an aerospace company dealing with avionics. Slip ring activities started in 1962 and became the company’s core business including the widest range of slip rings available from any other manufacturer in Europe.

Over the years, Air Precision gained an outstanding reputation for high standards, quality and customer service. The technical staff is composed of highly qualified electrical and mechanical engineers, supported by the well known Pro-Engineer CAD System.

Air Precision’s slip ring assemblies range from total integration of electrical, hydraulic, HF rotary joint and encoders in one single system down to miniature units.

Typical applications for our slip ring assemblies in the military market are: missile launchers, helicopter rotors, radar pedestals, optronic fire control systems turrets.

MILITARY SLIP RINGS

Slip rings for military and defence applications often use different technologies. With robust mechanical design, they are built to withstand strong vibrations.Slip rings for turrets of armoured vehicles for example, transmit high power but also signals (databus, radio, multiplex). Some also contain an NBC air channel and / or an encoder.

Air Precision uses stacked technology as basic design. Stacked designs allow the use of PTFE isolation material and advanced gold plating technologies for extended lifetime, low electrical noise and better reliability.

QUALITY ASSURANCE

Quality remains one of Air Precision's main priorities. As a company working in the defence sector, Air Precision received from the MoD RAQ2 certification in 1982 and more recently the AQAP 120 certification.

The Quality Assurance Department is totally involved in all stages of the design, development and manufacture of our products. With its qualified technicians and sophisticated test equipment, it constantly seeks to maintain and improve the quality of our products by the application of an organisation based on ISO 9001 procedures and instructions.

For its aerospace repair activity, Air Precision received in 1993 from the DGAC JAR 145 approval for aircraft maintenance and its FAA repair station status in 1995.
