Stratos is Australia’s most experienced supplier of military seating with many seating designs currently in active service overseas. We have supplied the Australian defence forces on projects such as: Perenti, Bushranger, ASLAV and HSEV. Our products comply with military specifications (i.e: flame retardancy, corrosion protection) and can include unique features such as mine blast protection, sideward and rearward facing, wall and roof mounting, closed cell foam etc. We also offer through life service support of all our products. Our experienced design team can provide custom seating solutions for specialist projects. We also have a wide range of existing purpose built seats. Mine blast protective seatingResearch has shown that the four main injuries sustained by vehicle occupants in the event of mine blast include brain and organ injuries (a result of blast wave-induced changes in atmospheric pressure); injuries sustained from shrapnel and other objects put in motion, three injuries sustained by people being forcefully put in motion by the blast and four burns or inhalation of gases. Some of the safety features of the Stratos BattleSafe range include:
Mine-blast resistant crew seatThe 208 model is a heavy duty crew seat that is intended for use in sideward facing applications. The lateral support wing meets the head injury criteria for Australian design rules. The 208 was originally designed to include mine blast protection, however the seat can also be supplied without this feature. The low-burn integral skin moulded components make cleaning this seat easy as it is suitable for hosing. Mine blast resistant front seatThe 210 model is a heavy duty seat, originally designed for drivers or commanders but may also function as a crew seat. The 210 has effective lateral support wings and can be used in conjunction with a three or four-point belt system. The 210 was originally designed to include mine blast protection, however the seat can also be supplied without this feature. The low-burn integral skin moulded components make cleaning this seat easy. Wall mount folding seatThe 213WM model is a heavy duty, wall mounted, mine blast resistant seat. The wall mounted quick release lock allows the vehicle to be reconfigured in minutes (from troop movement to maximum cargo space). It is also easily interchangeable with Stratos models 739 and 770. The 213WM has effective lateral support wings framing the body and providing excellent protection for the occupant. The convenient fold-up cushion allows improved access throughout the cabin whilst the lock down latch holds the cushion firmly in place whilst in use. Sideward facing wall mount seatThe lightweight 739LW wall mount seat is a superior and unique sideward facing seat. Its combination of features make it suitable for a wide range of military vehicle applications. The wall mounted quick release lock allows the vehicle to be reconfigured in minutes (from troop movement to maximum cargo space). The fold-up cushion allows convenient access throughout the cabin, whilst the lock down latch holds the cushion securely in place when in use. The four point harness with lateral support wing provides excellent occupant safety supporting the torso, shoulder and head. The wing design is a result of extensive testing by the Australian Military. Heavy duty front seatLike the 210, the 220 model is a heavy duty seat that can function as a driver, commander or crew seat. The 220 has effective lateral support wings and can be used in conjunction with a three or four point belt system. The 220 does not include the low-burn moulded components of the 210, rather the seat utilises a traditional vinyl covered foam cushion and backrest for increased comfort and incorporates Sisiara webbing in the base unit, dramatically increasing ride quality and reducing harmful vibrations.
