Light reconnaissance vehicles for CBRN detection

CBRN detection instruments are integrated in a light reconnaissance vehicle. They enable rapid and efficient detection of CBRN agents and toxic industrial chemicals (TIC), sampling, field marking and sending CBRN messages.

The light reconnaissance vehicle contains integrated measuring instruments for CBRN detection, system for sampling, system for contaminated field marking, and radio and weapon stations. The filtration system provides protection for the crew against CBRN warfare agents. The light reconnaissance vehicle is also amphibious.

Manufacturers of CBRN detection instruments are selected according to high quality and tradition. The CBRN system enables the measuring of gamma radiation inside and outside the vehicle, presence of biological agents, chemical warfare agents (CWA) inside and outside the vehicle, and remote stand-off chemical detection up to a distance of 5km. A meteorological station is used to measure wind speed, wind direction, humidity, air temperature and atmospheric pressure measurement. Oxygen and carbon dioxide measurement are used for air quality control inside the vehicle.

A computer system with user friendly software interface enables instrument use, control, data and alarms visualization and CBRN reporting (ATP-45). Radio stations enable transmission of gathered data.

Sampling and marking systems are automated and controlled from inside the vehicle. Samples are stored in the cartridge, ready for transport to specialised laboratories. The marking system enables the planting of flags on the ground. Three kinds of marking flags (biological, chemical and atomic) are stored in three different cartridges and, according to the detection, proper flags are used.

An automated weapon station is installed on top of the armoured vehicle for protection and fire support.

The vehicle’s entire integrated CBRN detection system with instruments, equipment, hardware and software support can be further customised to fit specific needs and demands of the customer.

Stand Alone CBRN detection system

Stand Alone is a detection system for CBRN defense, for observing and protecting important buildings and protecting people against possible CBRN attack from weapons of mass destruction.

Independent Stand Alone units are placed on the field and automatically send data to a control station for monitoring. Stand Alone consists of two cases – a battery is integrated in the power supply case and takes care of autonomous operation of the unit, whilst instruments for chemical warfare agent (CWA) detection, biological agent detection and radiological detection are integrated in the measuring equipment case.

A meteorological station is used for measurement of wind speed, wind direction, humidity, air temperature and atmospheric pressure. A compass is integrated in meteorological station and is used for measuring wind direction. GPS determines latitude and longitude of placed systems in the field. A rugged computer with software interface enables instrument control and data transmission over radio to the control station.

The control station enables on-line monitoring and visualisation of Stand Alone units, visual and audio alarms, saving alarm events into database and sending NATO standardized ATP-45 messages.

Deployable chemical and biological laboratory

Our deployable chemical laboratory is designed for detection and identification of chemical warfare agents (CWA’s) and toxic industrial chemicals (TIC’s). The deployable biological laboratory represents a laboratory with a capability for fast on-site diagnostics. It combines functionality, efficient use of space and flexibility in BSL-3 containment. In the case of attack with weapons of mass destruction and biological agents, a rapid and effective response and correct identification of the biological agents is extremely important.

The deployable chemical and biological laboratory containment integrates different instruments with software support. The equipment enables data processing, communication and transmission of CBRN reports. The CBRN filtration system consists of filters that protect against CBRN agents. Positive pressure assures clean air in the laboratory, as well as the negative pressure in glove box assures clean and safe working environment.

The deployable chemical and biological laboratory is divided in three compartments: engine room, entrance with shower and laboratory with glove box. Laboratory provides safe, fast and accurate working process. High-quality BSL3 cabinet and instruments for the microbiological diagnostics enable accurate detection and identification of microorganisms which could be potential bioterroristic agents.

The deployable chemical and biological laboratory can be further customized to fit specific needs and demands of the customer.
