Defence technology solutions provider Parsons has won a task order on the US Army’s responsive strategic sourcing for services (RS3) contract.

The $38m order will see Parsons provide tactical applications core infrastructure, utilities, and integration services.

It will have a one-year base period, with an option for three additional years.

Parsons noted that the task order will support the Army’s maturation of the acquisition contract command post computing environment (CPCE).

Furthermore, the company will provide design, development, integration and testing services for software and training content.

CPCE provides soldiers with a ‘consolidated picture’ of situational awareness in the command post.

It helps enhance the warfighters’ ability to make quick adjustments as per the combat situation and make decisions to accomplish their mission.

Parsons mission command and simulation division vice-president Robert Lawrence said: “We are proud to support the US Army in providing our warfighters with streamlined and consolidated mission command applications that enhance and accelerate critical decision making.

“Our team will provide full lifecycle software engineering that will assist the US Army in developing a common operating environment, standardising mission command systems, and unlocking mission potential.”

Last month, Parsons won a multiple-award task order contract from the US Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District.

In July this year, Parsons closed the acquisition of digital security firm BlackHorse Solutions in a deal valued at $203m.
