The US Army Corps of Engineers has extended its contract with Parsons for repair works at Bucholz Army Airfield on Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
The move involves exercising two contract options for a combined value of $30.5m.

Parsons noted that Bucholz Army Airfield is situated in a remote, highly corrosive, humid and salt-laden environment where it is tasked to replace major runways, taxiways and parking aprons.
The repair works, set to be completed in a single phase, will not affect airfield operations at the site.
Parsons engineered systems executive vice-president Christian Alexander said: “Parsons is pleased to extend our partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers Honolulu District to rehabilitate Bucholz Army Airfield.
“Bucholz Airfield is a highly strategic national asset for the US military in the Pacific theatre, so our expertise delivering safe and effective operations that ensure no impact to operational requirements will be critical on this project.”

After exercising the options, the total project value increased to $229m.
Founded in 1944, Parsons delivers cyber / converged security, technology-based intellectual property and other services.
Recently, the company secured a position on a utility monitoring and control systems (UMCS V) contract through the US Army Corps of Engineers Engineering and Support Center.
The multiple-award contract, which has a total ceiling value of $1.2bn, comprises seven companies, including Parsons.
