TTTECH North America has secured a contract to supply advanced Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) solutions for the US Army’s High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES) aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) initiative.
The HADES programme aims to modernise government-furnished Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft, equipping them with deep sensing capabilities designed for multi-domain ISR roles.

These upgrades target operational speeds, ranges, and altitudes beyond the reach of the current turboprop fleet set for replacement.
TTTECH will provide a 10 Gigabit TSN network platform, consisting of switches and endpoint devices that meet the IEEE 802.1DP TSN aerospace profile.
The delivered platform also includes network scheduling, configuration tools, and supporting software.
TTTECH’s Deterministic Ethernet product line, certified to DAL A standards, covers switches and endpoints compatible with standard Ethernet, ARINC 664 part 7, TSN, and TTEthernet protocols. This technology is already in use across various safety- and mission-critical environments within aerospace and defence.

By GlobalDataTTTECH North America products and customer programmes director Alvaro Soares said: “This award reflects our commitment to delivering innovative, network platform solutions that enable secure, highspeed connectivity for upgradeable mission-critical systems. We look forward to contributing to the Army’s vision for a future-ready digital backbone on the HADES program and beyond.”
The planned open architecture digital backbone will support rapid system upgrades and reconfigurations, as well as lifecycle management efficiencies.
The approach uses commercial technologies to encourage reuse of modular mission capabilities across different defence programmes.
Time-Sensitive Networking is increasingly being adopted as a standard backbone for next-generation aerospace and defence systems due to its ability to provide reliable, low-latency data transfer across complex platforms.
TTTECH’s TSN solutions will be implemented in SOSA-conformant 3U-VPX based Nodal Access Units (NAUs) and TSN switch Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), manufactured by North Atlantic Industries (NAI), a long-term partner of TTTECH. NAI’s modular platforms are designed for rugged aerospace operations.
Additionally, the US Army has selected DDC-I Deos as the real-time operating system (RTOS) for the HADES digital backbone.
DDC-I Deos is certified to DO-178 DAL A standards and conforms to FACE requirements, supporting modular open systems architecture (MOSA) aligned processing for mission-critical software applications.
Bombardier Defense delivered the first Global 6500 aircraft to the US Army, which will support prototyping efforts for the HADES programme in 2024.
