Lockheed Martin España and the Spanish Ministry of Defense have signed an industrial cooperation agreement that allows local industry to compete for Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) components production.
The signing took place at the International Defence and Security Exhibition of Spain (FEINDEF) and sets a foundation for continued collaboration on defence projects in Spain.

Spanish defence technology companies Sener and Oesía-Tecnobit are named as key partners under the agreement.
Sener will be responsible for designing and developing PAC-3 MSE actuators in line with Lockheed Martin’s specifications.
Oesía Tecnobit will produce specialised cables and harnesses for the interceptor system.
Lockheed Martin España has been collaborating with both the companies since 2023.

“The inclusion of Sener and Oesía-Tecnobit in the PAC-3 MSE supply chain is a significant step forward in our efforts to support the defence industrial base of the US and its allies.”
The partnership is expected to boost supply chain resilience and create cross-Atlantic business opportunities.
The PAC-3 MSE interceptor system uses hit-to-kill technology, which relies on direct impact to neutralize threats, resulting in significantly more kinetic energy upon collision compared to traditional blast-fragmentation methods.
It is designed to intercept a variety of incoming dangers such as tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, hypersonic weapons, and aircraft.
Spain’s acquisition of PAC-3 MSEs and associated support equipment was formalised through a bilateral agreement with the US in 2024.
In April 2025, Lockheed Martin reported first-quarter sales of $17.96bn in 2025, reflecting a 4% increase from $17.19bn during the same period in 2024. Net earnings rose to $1.71bn for the quarter ending 31 March 2025, compared to $1.54bn in Q1 2024.
