Israeli company Smartshooter, in collaboration German company IEA Mil-Optics, has secured an order to supply SMASH fire control systems to the German armed forces.
This follow-on order does not give an exact number of systems to be delivered but specifies that it is a mid-three-digit figure of Smartshooter SMASH systems.

The SMASH family of fire control systems comprises handheld-operated, remotely controlled, and uncrewed ground vehicle (UGV)-mounted systems.
These systems are designed to enhance hit probability against ground and aerial targets, including drones.
SMASH technology uses an onboard computer to lock onto targets, track their movements, and synchronise shots for fast, accurate hits. By integrating AI, computer vision, and advanced algorithms, it turns standard weapons into smart, precision-shooting systems.
This technology is expected to improve accuracy, enhance situational awareness, and reduces collateral damage, allowing forces to operate with greater precision and intelligence.

The SMASH system is in use by armed forces in Germany, the UK, and several other NATO countries to counter drone and ground-based threats.
Smartshooter is engaged in designing and manufacturing fire control systems to enhance the accuracy and lethality of small arms.
According to the German website sources, the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) ordered counter-uncrewed aerial system (C-UAS) SMASH fire control systems for G27P assault rifles in 2023.

Smartshooter and IEA will showcase the SMASH series of fire control systems at Enforce Tac at the end of February 2025.
