It covers an additional order for Sweden and RS4 subsystems for various CAVS vehicle variants ordered by Germany in December 2025.
Patria and Germany finalised two procurement contracts under the Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme worth over €2bn, covering up to 876 Patria 6×6 armoured vehicles in four variants.
The company and its German industry partners will assemble the vehicles, with deliveries scheduled from 2026 to 2030.
Patria’s Protected Mobility business area executive vice president Jussi Järvinen said: “We are very proud to support CAVS member nations with a common RS4 equipped Patria 6×6 configuration. The CAVS defence collaboration framework lets nations move fast, buy smart and sustain locally ‒ therefore the defence forces receive always a consistent, interoperable capability with the backing of a robust European supply chain.”

By GlobalDataThe CAVS programme is led by Finland. The other six nations that are part of this initiative are Latvia, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, the UK, and Norway.
The Patria 6×6 vehicles are also currently in use in Ukraine.
The programme aims to standardise development of the 6×6 armoured vehicle system, with Patria drawing on more than 40 years’ experience in protected mobility and system integration.
The majority of vehicle production takes place using local industry resources from the member countries.
Each new participant contributes to reinforcing the security of supply for all members.
To date, Patria has contracted almost 2,000 Patria 6×6 vehicles including options and has delivered over 300 units.
Countries that share similar equipment requirements can join the programme if current participants consent.
Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace executive vice president Kjetil Reiten Myhra said: “We are pleased to extend our cooperation with the Swedish and German armed forces. Combined with growing interest from participating and prospective CAVS nations, this agreement confirms Kongsberg’s standing as a leading supplier of remote weapon stations.”
In December last year, Swedish Armed Forces mandated the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to procure enhancements for the Pansarterrängbil 203 (Patria XA 203) vehicles from Patria.
