Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has been awarded a contract for providing enterprise operations and security services (EOSS) concept support to the US Army National Guard (ARNG).
Awarded under the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Alliant government-wide acquisition contract vehicle, the single-award, firm fixed-price contract features a one-year performance period, four one-year options, and a maximum potential value of $58m if all options are exercised.

The contract covers delivery of support for operation, modernisation and expansion, as well as further evolution of the EOSS concept and associated IT services.
SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager Dan Harris said the company was looking to support army and ARNG using its expertise in global network operations and maintenance capabilities.
Under the contract, the company will help the ARNG transform a legacy IT operation model into a services-oriented, information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) based concept of operations.
Specific services being provided include common engineering and engineering project support, enterprise systems standardisation support, data networks system engineering, service strategy and design, as well as service operations and continual service improvements.

The ARNG-G6 is responsible for maintenance and operation of ARNG enterprise IT systems, including the wide area network (WAN), also called GuardNet XXI, exchange and web services, video and audio conferencing and other systems.
As ARNG’s contribution to the US Army’s LandWarNet architecture, the GuardNet XXI provides WAN connectivity for critical Department of Defense (DoD) and army applications across 54 states, three US territories, and the District of Columbia.
