Support Systems Associates (SSAI) has received a contract from the US Army for delivery of logistics and modification support services across its aviation platforms.

With an estimated ceiling value of up to $1.5bn over the next five years, the multiple award indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) logistics support facilities management activity (LSFMA) contract involves the team to support the aircraft modifications and provide other support and services.

Under the contract, SSAI will collaborate with BAE Systems to supply a wide range of support services across aviation platforms supported by the Program Executive Office (PEO) Aviation, Army Materiel Command (AMC)/Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM).

BAE Systems Integrated Aviation Solutions vice-president Floyd McConnell said the company has demonstrated its commitment to the contract through the investments in Albertville and Huntsville, US, to improve on performance in 2012.

Services will include engineering development of aircraft modifications, application of modifications to the aircraft fleet, as well as logistics support of systems and aircraft amongst others.

Additional contract responsibilities include delivery of support services for aviation platforms operated by other US Government agencies and some foreign military sales (FMS) countries.

Work is scheduled to be carried out at SSAI’s soon-to-be opened facility in Huntsville, Alabama, as well as BAE’s hangar in Albertville, and offices in Huntsville, Alabama, US.
