Textron Marine & Land Systems has received a contract from the US Army Tank Automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) to repair 392 M1117 armoured security vehicles (ASV).
The contract has a base value of $19.8m including two option years. 225 ASVs could be refurbished during the first option year, while option year two involves work on an additional 167 vehicles.

The contract is part of the Reset Programme, under which the company will reverse the effects of combat stress on ASVs while enabling vehicle survivability, safety and mobility enhancements.
The programme aims to restore the ASVs to full mission-capable, combat-ready condition, irrespective of their current condition.
The company has developed a comprehensive set of procedures, tooling and test equipment for the vehicles depending on the results of initial ASV reset work executed in 2008 and 2010.
Work will be performed at the company’s facilities in New Orleans, US, and is expected to complete by 2014.
