The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has awarded a contract to KBR to supply facilities management services.

The contract will see KBR serve as the sole supplier delivering FM services to the MoD on deployed operations in the Middle East.

The company will deliver an array of hard and soft FM services that will include operating and maintaining existing infrastructure assets, as well as optimise the use of assets across the MoD operational estates.

KBR teams will also work alongside the MoD in locations such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Oman, Bahrain and the UAE to also provide cost-effective delivery for real life support services, including catering, cleaning, laundry, waste management and pest control services.

Additional services to be provided by KBR will include grounds maintenance, reprographics, office machinery and government furnished equipment servicing and maintenance.

The contract has an initial performance period of three years, with an associated revenue of $48m, and comes with an option to extend by up to two years for a total maximum value of $80m.

Under the contract, KBR is also expected to support both operational deployments and exercises undertaken by the MoD on a call off basis in future within the Middle East region.
