The system, manufactured by Saab, provides enhanced situational awareness to a brigade commander for better decision-making.

Chaka has been developed based on a brigade-level war gaming solution, BattleTek, and is an expansion of the Ground Based Air Defence System.

The army has plans to procure several such systems to support three simultaneous peace support operations outside Africa and one for training exercise, according to defenceweb.com.
