Patria has put forward its 8×8 armoured modular vehicle (AMV) for Lithuania’s advanced wheeled infantry fighting vehicle (IFV) programme.
The company has also proposed local industry cooperation for the IFV project.

Launched in July 2014, the Lithuanian IFV project requested formal letters, containing comprehensive information on vehicle production, from nine foreign IFV manufacturers.
Under the first phase of the National Defence system development programme, running from 2014 to 2023, approximately two battalions of the mechanised infantry brigade (MIB) Iron Wolf are scheduled to be equipped with advanced wheeled IFVs until 2020.
Through collaboration with Lithuanian companies, Patria intends to create a service support system for Lithuanian Armed Forces vehicles.
Patria will also receive support from local companies in assembling, manufacturing and delivering IFV vehicles for the Lithuanian project.

By GlobalDataAccording to the company, its AMV’s structural solutions enable high payload capacity, high level of protection and integration of heavy weapon systems.
Patria land business unit president Mika Kari said: "We have already negotiated about the various co-operation possibilities with the local industrial partners, which will have an excellent opportunity to participate into the Lithuanian project as well as to become a subcontractor not only for Patria, but also for Patria’s current manufacturing partners, and thus creating export opportunities outside Lithuania."
The firm recently expanded its product family with the introduction of the new AMVXP IFV, which passed an intensive testive phase.
The Lithuanian Land Force currently operates M113 armoured personnel carriers, which are well suited for exfiltrating soldiers, but lack offensive capability.
In September 2014, BAE Systems signed a teaming agreement with Patria to bid for the Australian Army’s Land 400 Phase II land-combat vehicle system (LCVS) programme.
