ManTech International has been awarded a contract to continue the provision of field software engineering support to the US Army.

Awarded by the Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground under the software and systems engineering services contract vehicle, the agreement includes a one-year base performance period and has a maximum potential value of $89.4m.

"ManTech will continue to provide worldwide garrison, exercise and combat operations support to users of strategic and tactical command, control and communications systems."

The cost-plus-fixed-fee task order also includes a one-year option, and requires the company to provide command, control and communication system field software engineering support to the army’s Software Engineering Center (SEC).

ManTech Mission Solutions and Services Group president and chief operating officer Daniel Keefe said: "Command, control and communications systems play a critical role in the successful execution of the army’s mission."

ManTech will continue to provide worldwide garrison, exercise and combat operations support to users of strategic and tactical command, control and communications systems.

The agreement also includes support for the SEC’s logistics management systems and training support for overseas mission command training centres.

ManTech already provides systems engineering services to SEC under a $7bn indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) multiple-award software and systems engineering services next generation (SSES NexGen) contract, which was awarded by the army in November 2012.

Headquartered at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, US, SEC provides systems and software engineering and scientific support for a wide variety of US Army and Department of Defense (DoD) customers across the country.
