Harris has been awarded a $92m contract to supply an integrated command, control and communications system by an undisclosed Middle Eastern country for use in defence and security missions.
The system will provide a fully networked internet protocol (IP) based voice, data and video services across the mission area by using Harris’s latest developments in wideband tactical radios and integrated systems capabilities.

Specifically, the contract includes integration of Harris Fusion 4G long-term evolution (LTE) system base stations and ruggedised subscriber terminals for supply of secure, private tactical cellular services locally.
The company will also offer tactical radio network and national coverage through connections provided by high-speed RF-7800W high-capacity line-of-sight and RF-7800H wideband high-frequency tactical radios.
Harris RF Communications group president Dana Mehnert said the 4G LTE tactical cellular capabilities rapidbly addressed emerging requirements for fully networked command and control missions.
"Our wideband products and integrated system solutions are leading the transformation of tactical communications for our customers in the Middle East and throughout the world," Mehnert said.

Meanwhile, the company also secured a $36m contract for delivery of its Falcon III AN/PRC-117G manpack and AN/PRC-152A handheld radios to provide the US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) with critical wireless broadband capabilities even in remote battlefield conditions.
