Envistacom has secured a US Army contract to manage tactical communications and operations for deployed warfighters.

Valued at $10m, the contract was issued as a delivery order by the US Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG) through its Global Tactical Advanced Communications Systems and Support (GTACS) contract vehicle.

Under the five-year contract, Envistacom is tasked with providing mission-critical communications and operation support to the US Army 2nd Theater Signal Brigade and 102nd Strategic Signal Battalion.

Envistacom vice-president Alan Carson said: “Envistacom is dedicated to equipping warfighters with mission-critical technology necessary to counter existing and emerging threats, and we are honoured with the opportunity to expand our close partnership with the US Army.

The contract covers strategic communications systems support for the Enterprise Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Gateway Facility located at Landstuhl (ESG-L) Germany.

Envistacom will also provide support to the US Army's Satellite Communications System (DSCS), Standardized Tactical Entry Point (STEP), and Teleport and Regional Hub Node (RHN).

These systems are claimed to provide vital communications links for deployed US Army and Joint Forces in Europe, the Middle East and Africa during training and operational missions.

Based in the US, Envistacom provides communications networks, as well as counter-terrorism and cyber-security solutions.
