The US Army has awarded a contract to Comtech Telecommunications to supply the company’s satellite transceivers and control stations.
Under the $26.3m contract, Comtech will supply mobile satellite transceivers, as well as V2 and control station systems, all of which include the MT-2012.

Comtech’s MT-2012 transceiver features the Savi Technology’s ISO-compliant EchoPoint RFID reader integrated with an encrypted GPS module.
The company will also provide support equipment, engineering services and software upgrades to allow the army to completely adopt the RFID ISO 18000-7 standard.
Total orders received under the company’s movement tracking system contract with the US Army have increased to $621.3m.
