BAE Systems has been awarded a $165.46m firm-fixed-price contract to provide heavy equipment recovery vehicles.

The award will provide for the production of 43 heavy equipment recovery combat utility life evacuation system recovery vehicles (Hercules).

The M88A2 Hercules is a full-tracked, armoured vehicle used to support battlefield recovery operations and evacuation of heavy tanks and other tracked combat vehicles.

Work will be performed at the company’s facility in York, Pennsylvania, US, with an estimated completion date of 31 December 2013.

The US Army Contracting Command will be the contracting activity.
