Lockheed Martin has been awarded a firm-fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee contract by the US Army Contracting Command to provide software support services to the UAE Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) system.

The $17.6m award will provide for the integration support of Post Deployment Build-7 software in the PAC-3 Ground System Engagement Control System.

The PAC-3 is an advanced, capable and powerful terminal air defence missile that directly destroys incoming targets including tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft.

Work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Texas and White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, US, with an estimated completion date of 31 May 2014.
