The robot, which weighs less than 5lb, is equipped with four built-in cameras and two-way audio communication with digital mesh networking capabilities for providing multidirection situational awareness.
iRobot’s Government and Industrial Robots division president Robert Moses said the robot would be an ideal tool for warfighters and first responders for a range of infantry missions and special operations.
The robot will be demonstrated to military and law enforcement personnel, and will be available for delivery to customers in 2012.
