Designed for rapid deployment, the solution’s components are encased in durable containers that can be set up in less than 30 minutes.

The network’s backbone relies on Motorola Solutions’ Silvus Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) technology, enhancing connectivity across various terrains and large areas.

The Silvus mesh network is designed to be scalable and self-repairing, facilitating robust communication channels between advanced units and command centres.

It also supports secure, artificial intelligence (AI)-driven video sensors and uncrewed systems that contribute to heightened situational awareness and improved command capabilities.

Motorola Solutions UK and Ireland country manager Fergus Mayne said: “Secure, resilient and real-time connectivity is crucial for modern military operations. With Nokia, we’re providing defence forces with powerful, next-generation communications to help bring critical information to the front lines.

“This innovative communications solution builds on our global footprint in mission-critical land mobile radio and previous containerised network solutions to address the dynamic and evolving needs of modern defence operations.”

Motorola Solutions reported the implementation of similar containerised communication networks for the German Armed Forces in 2021. These systems are designed for both mobility and fixed deployment, ensuring compatibility with the communication networks of German Public Safety Organizations, NATO, and the EU.

In May 2025, Nokia also signed memorandum of understanding with Blackned, majority-owned by Rheinmetall, to develop advanced deployable tactical networks for use by the German defence forces.
