The £31m ($37.95m) contract with Materieellogistiek Commando (MatLogCo) has resulted in the creation of five distinct container configurations, all intended for the transport and storage of military supplies for the Royal Netherlands Army’s global operations.

The design and engineering of these containers were a collaborative effort between Marshall’s UK team and Contour Advanced Systems, a Dutch high-tech engineering firm.

System integration was conducted at Marshall’s facility in Moncton, Canada, as well as by Contour.

Marshall’s Dutch operations played a role in engineering, procurement, and production support, with additional work carried out by Visser Leeuwarden in the Netherlands.

In the next phase of the NLSC programme, Marshall will provide a minimum of 12 years of maintenance and support services for the containers post-delivery.

Marshall Deployable Infrastructure director Carl Forey said: “Fulfilling production for the NLSC contract is a proud moment that shows the strength of Marshall’s global organisation and partnerships.

“We are incredibly grateful to MatLogCo for their guidance and partnership at every step of this programme, which will provide the Royal Netherlands Army with specialised containers. We look forward to delivering ongoing support ranging from training, documentation and spares to field engineering work.”

Alongside the NLSC initiative, Marshall is also engaged in the Defensiebrede Vervanging Operationele Wielvoertuigen (DVOW) programme, supplying the Dutch Defence Materiel Organisation with deployable container systems. This contract consists of two components.

It encompasses the production and delivery of various container types, including command and control units, medical systems, workshops, and storage units, along with a full support programme featuring health and usage monitoring and a fleet management system.

Additionally, Marshall continues to offer integrated engineering and operational support to the Royal Netherlands Air Force, following the completion of a safety upgrade programme for their C-130H aircraft fleet.
