According to Leonardo DRS, BMS has been designed to integrate tactical computing solutions with a suite of next-generation software. This allows real-time situational awareness from the vehicle level up to brigade.

Chaiseri Defense Systems, a Thai defence company, will handle local services for the new BMS capability, including system installation and commissioning, training of operators, and through‑life sustainment.

Leonardo DRS land electronics business unit senior vice president and general manager Dennis Crumley said: “This contract represents an important step in expanding local industrial participation and delivering long-term, advanced capability to the Royal Thai Army.

“We are proud to advance our partnership with Chaiseri with this important contract and look forward to future cooperation to support the national security needs of Thailand.”

The agreement builds on an existing collaboration between Leonardo DRS and Chaiseri that began in November 2024, focusing on strengthening local capacity and providing mission systems for the Royal Thai Army.

In February 2024, Leonardo DRS received a separate contract to equip the Royal Thailand Army’s new Stryker armoured vehicles with command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) systems.

The company partnered with Chaiseri Defense Systems for the technology installation, training, and in-country support.

Chaiseri Defense Systems managing director Kan Koolihiran said: “We are proud to strengthen our relationship with Leonardo DRS through this subcontract, supporting delivery of a world-class BMS capability for the Royal Thai Army.”

Leonardo DRS continues to focus on network computing and integration for C4/C5 technologies used by US and allied militaries.

The company is also developing new tactical computing systems and AI processing solutions aligned with modern open standards to support future operational requirements.
