“Together with our teammate, Chaiseri Defense, we are proud to support our Royal Thailand Army allies by delivering proven capability and deep integration experience to ensure warfighters have the right tools for success on the battlefield.”

The BMS solution provided is an international adaptation of the Mounted Family of Computer Systems programme used by the US Army.

It is designed to enhance command and control, accelerate tactical operations, and improve situational awareness.

The company notes that the C4/C5 technologies are pivotal for multi-domain battlefield operations, improving data and communication for targeting, situational awareness, and battle management.

In 2019, the US State Department approved $175m foreign military sale of 60 Stryker infantry carrier vehicles with equipment to Thailand. The Indo-Pacific nation placed further orders for the vehicles in 2020 and 2021.

The armoured vehicles are part of Thai Army’s modernisation efforts to enhance its combat effectiveness and expand operational capacity.

General Dynamics Land Systems is the principal contractor for the Stryker vehicle.

Leonardo DRS is also investing in the future of C5 technologies.

It is focusing on the development of next-generation tactical computing systems, AI processing solutions, and C5ISR/EW modular open suite of standards/sensor open system architecture aligned mounted systems.

This contract follows a demonstration by Leonardo DRS and BlueHalo of a new Stryker-based counter-uncrewed aircraft system directed energy prototype during a live-fire engagement in October 2024.
