The Vampire is a self-contained, low-cost platform designed to offer reconnaissance and precision strike capabilities against uncrewed aerial systems and remotely operated aircraft.

It is designed to be compatible with any tactical or non-tactical vehicle featuring a flat surface.

The system employs the advanced precision kill weapons system, as well as other laser-guided munitions.

GM Defense’s ISV meets the US Army’s rapid deployment requirements with robust off-road capabilities, enhancing tactical mobility across various operations.

The vehicle’s design allows easy maintenance and adaptability to diverse missions.

GM Defense collaborates with firms like L3Harris to develop kits meeting general purpose and special operations forces’ needs, incorporating systems like Vampire for increased protection against drone threats.

GM Defense government solutions and strategy vice president John ‘JD’ Johnson said: “The versatility of the ISV is one of its core strengths, and integrating a critical counter-UAS capability like Vampire showcases our ability to rapidly adapt the vehicle to meet evolving threats.

“This successful integration highlights how the ISV’s modular design and commercial-based architecture can quickly incorporate next-generation technologies to deliver immediate value and enhanced protection to our warfighters.”

In June 2025, L3Harris Technologies also secured a contract from the US Department of War to supply more Vampire systems.
